Hilary Gerzhoy is one of the country’s leading legal ethics lawyers. She serves as outside ethics counsel to law firms with a national footprint, including firms in the Am Law 10, advising them across the full range of professional responsibility and risk management matters, and provides expert testimony in ethics-related disputes. Hilary has represented hundreds of Am Law 100 partners navigating lateral transitions.

Bar Rules of Professional Conduct Review Committee, and a former member of the ABA’s Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility. Hilary is an adjunct law professor at Georgetown University Law Center, where she teaches legal ethics. She has published more than 40 articles on legal ethics, with work appearing in Bloomberg Law, Law360, and the Chicago Tribune. She is frequently quoted as an ethics authority in The National Law Journal, Law.com, and Bloomberg.

Before entering private practice, Hilary clerked for the Honorable Kermit V. Lipez of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she won the Prosser Award in both Legal Ethics and Written and Oral Advocacy, and her B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Chicago.
